GitLab is an IT service for collaborative versioning of software or other text-based data. The University of Bonn operates its own GitLab instance on its own servers. This is completely independent of gitlab.com. Data does not leave the University of Bonn (as long as corresponding repositories are not explicitly made visible university-wide or to the public). However, it is also possible to make data publicly accessible.

GitLab is accessible free of charge to all holders of a Uni-ID, e.g. employees and students, for active use. Read access is possible worldwide as long as the viewing rights of a group or project have not been restricted. The terms of use apply.
